The Orders page is where you view, manage, and create every order in Shippo. It's the first thing you see when you log in, and you can always get back to it by clicking Orders in the left navigation panel.
Getting orders onto your Orders page
There are three ways orders end up on this page:
- Imported from your connected ecommerce store, via Shippo Ecommerce Store Integrations
- Uploaded via CSV, see How to Upload Orders to Shippo via CSV
- Created manually by entering the sender and recipient details yourself
| Note: Haven't created or imported any orders yet? Watch How to Create Your First Label to get started. |
Importing orders from your store
Once you connect a store, its orders populate the Orders page automatically. Click Sync Orders in the top right to manually pull in the latest orders. Sync timing depends on the platform: Shippo typically syncs once an hour, though some integrations sync in real time. See Shippo Ecommerce Store Integrations for details on your specific platform.
| Note: For Shopify, Sync Orders also pulls in any new or updated addresses and locations. If you change an address or location in Shopify, wait five minutes, then click Sync Orders in Shippo to bring it over. See Shopify Locations in Shippo. |
Uploading orders via CSV
Click Import CSV to bring orders in from a CSV file. See How to Upload Orders to Shippo via CSV for the full field requirements and steps.
Creating orders manually
If you don't have a store connected and don't want to upload a CSV, you can create orders one at a time. This is a great option for a one-off label. Click Create Order at the top right of the page. We call these manual orders.
- Manual orders show a hippo icon in the Orders list.
- Manual orders don't have an order number.
- Manual orders don't have order items, so their packing slips won't include item details.
Working with an order
Click into any order to open the label sidebar, where you can view and edit everything about it. You can click directly into the section you want to manage. For example, clicking the carrier information opens the available rates so you can view and select a label.
From the label sidebar, you can:
- Choose or edit the sender, return, and recipient addresses
- View the order's items, along with their price and combined weight
- Edit the package info by choosing a package template, entering custom dimensions, or selecting a carrier-provided parcel
- Choose package options, like including alcohol or dry ice, or adding a return label
- Add shipping insurance and signature confirmation under Shipment Extras
- Change the shipment date
- Select your label
For a full walkthrough of any of these steps, see:

Filtering orders
Use filters to narrow down the orders you see:
- Filter by fulfillment: click All orders, Fulfilled, or Unfulfilled (Pending) at the top of the list.
- Additional filters: click Filters next to the search bar for more options: Date, Item, Destination, Weight, Store, and Shipping Method.
Date filter
Open the Date dropdown and enter a start and end date.
Destination filter
Open the Destination dropdown and choose Domestic or International, based on the recipient address on the order.
Weight filter
Open the Weight dropdown and enter a minimum and maximum weight, plus the unit of measurement (oz, lbs, and so on).
Store filter
Open the Store dropdown and select from your connected stores. You'll only see this option if you have a store connected or have imported orders via CSV. Choose Shippo to see only the orders you created manually.
Shipping method filter
Open the Select Customer Shipping dropdown and check the box for the method you want. Shipping methods only appear here if your customer selected one in your shopping cart. You can still purchase any carrier and service level when you create the label.
Clear and save filters
Click Clear Filter to reset your filters. To save a combination of filters, click the star next to Save Filter and give it a name.
Managing orders in bulk
Select multiple orders, then click Buy to open the bulk side panel, where you can:
- See a summary of items
- Edit package info
- Update package options
- Edit the shipment date
- Select carrier rates for all selected orders
Click View selected only to work through your selected orders one at a time without losing your place in the batch. Select a single order from the list to edit it individually, then continue purchasing the rest in bulk.
See How to Create Multiple Labels at Once in Shippo for the complete batch workflow.
After you purchase
Open a shipment's details to find:
- The carrier tracking number
- Customer information
- Tracking status
- A link to download the label
Hiding orders
From the Orders page, click the dropdown arrow next to Create Label or Fulfilled, then select Hide Order. See How to Hide Orders in Shippo for details on hiding multiple orders and restoring hidden ones.
Printing packing slips
Packing slips include the sender and recipient name and address, plus order details like item name, cost, quantity, and weight. You can print a single packing slip or several at once from the Orders page. See Packing Slips in Shippo for more detail.
