This guide walks you through integrating Shippo with SiteGround to streamline your shipping operations.
The integration connects SiteGround Ecommerce with the Shippo multi-carrier platform, so you can access rates, purchase shipping labels, and manage refunds from multiple carriers — USPS, UPS, DHL, FedEx, and more — directly within SiteGround.
Before starting the integration, make sure you have:
- An active SiteGround account
- An active Shippo account
- A carrier integration set up in Shippo
If you don't have an active Shippo account yet, you can create one directly from the SiteGround Shippo app.

Requirements to Enable Shippo
To activate Shippo, your store must meet the following criteria:
- Your SiteGround Ecommerce website must be on the Grow or Scale plan.
- The country set in your store's business information must be supported by the Ecommerce Shippo integration.
- Your store's currency must be the official currency of your store's country of origin.
Activate Shippo
- Navigate to Site Admin → Settings → Shipping.
- Press the Get Started button inside the Shippo banner.
- You'll be forwarded to a Shippo login page, where you can sign up and connect your Ecommerce store to the platform.
- Once Shippo is connected to Ecommerce, you'll be redirected back to the Shipping page in Site Admin, where you have a few more steps left to finish the setup. Press Continue Setup.
- You'll see the carriers you can connect to your Shippo account. To enable a carrier, press its Enable button.
| Note: Only carriers that operate in your store's country are displayed. |
- Once you press Enable, a pop-up window appears where you can select the Account Type. Choose a Shippo carrier account or one created directly with the carrier.
| Note: If you'd like to use your own carrier account, add it first in the Shippo app, then select it from the Account Type menu in Site Admin. |
- Below the account type, choose which carrier services you'd like to use.
- Press Confirm to enable the carrier.
- Set up the default product dimensions for your shipments. These apply at checkout when calculating live rates for products that don't have their own dimensions specified. From the Units menu, choose between Metric (cm, kg) and Imperial (in, lbs) — this format applies across your store. Then set the default Length, Width, Height, and Weight.
- Add your shipping packages. Each package has its own dimensions, and the system selects the package that best fits the items in an order when calculating live rates at checkout. Click Add New to add a package.
- Enter a name for the package in the Package Name field, then set the Length, Width, Height, and Box Weight. Press Confirm to finish the setup.
- Once the package is saved, you'll return to the package list. Add more packages by clicking Add New.
- Press Complete to finish the setup.
- You'll be taken back to the Shipping page in Site Admin, where the Shippo integration is labeled Enabled.
You can make changes to the Shippo integration at any time from its settings page. Press the Shippo Settings button to access it.
From the settings page, you can change the default product dimensions, add or remove carriers, and edit, add, or delete packages.
This concludes the initial Shippo integration setup. You can now start creating shipments. To display live shipping costs calculated by the carrier at checkout, set up live shipping rates.
How Billing Works
SiteGround uses a gray-label integration with Shippo. This means:
- All label charges are billed directly through your Shippo account.
- Your Shippo subscription plan determines carrier access and rates.
- There's no additional charge from SiteGround for using Shippo as a carrier.
- You can view all billing, invoices, and payment details at app.goshippo.com → Settings → Account → Billing.
All billing for Shippo services, including shipping labels and subscription fees, is handled directly by Shippo, not SiteGround. You'll be charged based on your monthly shipping volume, with plans starting at $19/month. For full details, see our pricing.
There's no additional charge from SiteGround to use the Shippo integration. All billing, invoicing, and receipts come directly from Shippo. If you're new to Shippo, you'll be prompted to choose a subscription plan during onboarding.
Access your billing and invoicing in Shippo
- Log in to the Shippo app.
- Go to Settings → Account → Billing.
- Download invoices, update payment methods, and view pending transactions.
Returns
SiteGround doesn't generate return labels natively. To create a return label for a customer:
- Log in to your Shippo account at app.goshippo.com.
- Go to the original shipment and create a return label from there.
- Share the return label with your customer by email.
For step-by-step instructions, see How to Create Return Labels in Shippo.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
| Shippo option isn't available on the Shipping page | Confirm your SiteGround Ecommerce site is on the Grow or Scale plan. Shippo isn't available on lower-tier plans. |
| Carriers aren't showing up during setup | Only carriers that operate in your store's country appear. Check the country set in your store's business information. |
| Enable button doesn't complete setup | Make sure your store's currency matches the official currency of your store's country of origin. The integration requires this before it will activate. |
| Live rates aren't showing at checkout | Set up default product dimensions and at least one package in the Shippo settings page, then confirm live rates are enabled for your store. |
| Need to use your own carrier account instead of Shippo's | Add the carrier account in the Shippo app first, then select it from the Account Type menu in Site Admin. |
