What you can automate

Once connected, Shippo gives you these triggers, actions, and searches to build with in Zapier.

Triggers

• New order: fires when a new order is created or imported.
• New shipping label: fires when a new label is purchased.

You can also trigger on tracking updates, like a shipment being delivered, using Zapier's built-in webhook app.

Actions

• Create order: creates a new order in Shippo.

Searches

• Find order: looks up an order by its ID.
• Find shipping label: looks up a label by its ID.

Connect your Shippo account to Zapier

1. Log in with your existing Shippo account, or create a new one.
2. Authorize the connection so Zapier can access your Shippo account.

Set up a trigger

Shippo supports triggers for new orders and new labels.

New order trigger

This fires whenever an order is created in Shippo, whether it's imported automatically from a connected sales channel or created through our web app or API. In Zapier, you can pull any order field you need, including status, recipient address, line items, and the shipping method selected.

New label trigger

This fires whenever a label is purchased in Shippo. You can pull the label URL, tracking number, carrier name, and service level. If the label is tied to an order, you'll also get the order ID, which you can use to look up the order with the order search.

Use the create order action

Push order details into Shippo from any trigger you choose. For example, you can connect Big Cartel to Shippo by pairing a Big Cartel order trigger with the Shippo create order action.

Trigger on tracking updates

Every label created in Shippo is tracked automatically. When there's a tracking update, we send a webhook you can use to trigger a Zap.

1. Set up a Zap using Zapier's built-in webhook app (you can skip the child key option).
2. Zapier will give you a URL. Copy it.
3. Log in to your Shippo account.
4. Open Settings > API.
5. In the webhook dropdown menus, select Track updated and Live, then paste in your URL.

Once your trigger is live, you can add searches or actions in Zapier. For example, use the webhook content to look up the matching label or order.
