This will save you the time of entering the specific dimensions and weight for every label each time you use the same size box or envelope. In this guide, we will go over creating custom and carrier-provided Package Templates.
Creating a Package Template
If you use the same package size(s) often, we recommend setting up a Package Template. This will save you the time of entering the specific dimensions and weight for every label each time you’re using the same size box or envelope
To create a Package Template:
- Click the Settings icon from the main dashboard.
- Select Packages from the navigation bar on the left.
- From the Packages Page, navigate to the Package Template section.
- Then, click New Template
Custom Dimensions
- Choose Custom Dimensions from the dropdown menu.
- Select either Box or tube or Poly mailer.
- Enter in your Package Dimensions and Weight (optional).
- Name your Package Template.
- Select Set as default package template for label purchase.
- Click Save Template.
Carrier Provided Parcel
- Choose Carrier Provided Parcel.
- Select the Carrier Provided parcel you would like to use from the dropdown menu.
- Enter Weight (optional).
- Select Set as default package template for label purchase.
- Click Save Template.
You can save up to 25 different package templates in your Shippo account and can select any one of those templates to use during the label creation workflow.
