How to Split Orders in Shippo

Shippo makes it easy to split an order into multiple packages. This guide covers how to split an order and how to combine split orders back together.

Splitting your orders

Order splitting is available to all merchants for:

• Manually created orders
• Orders uploaded via CSV
• Orders imported from Wix, Walmart, Amazon, BigCommerce, ChannelAdvisor, Magento2, or Shopify

To split an order:

• Find the order you want to split on the Orders page, open the options menu (⋮) on the right, and select Split order.
• Enter the number of items for each shipment.
• Shippo automatically splits the order into two shipments. To ship more than two, click Add Shipment. You can add up to 25.
• Once you've entered the number of shipments, click Save.
• You'll return to the main Orders screen, where your order now shows as one parent order with multiple child orders.

Moving your split orders back to a single order

If you need to undo a split and combine everything back into one order, you can, as long as no labels have been generated yet.

To remove the split and make one single order:

• Go back to the Orders page and click View order next to the parent order.
• On the first shipment, click Split order.
• Edit the values so all items are back in shipment one, and every other shipment shows 0 items, then click Save.
• Your child orders are removed, and you're left with a single parent order.

Will preset package templates be applied to my split orders?

Preset package templates apply to new orders as they're imported into Shippo, so your parent order will have a template applied if one qualifies. Once you split the order into child orders, though, the preset template won't carry over.

When you create your label, you'll need to assign a package template or enter custom dimensions for each child order individually.
