How billing works
We bill you directly for Canada Post labels through our regular billing process, so there's nothing extra to set up on your end.
Canada Post FAQs
How do I file a claim or dispute?
Shippo Support handles all claims and disputes for lost or damaged packages, plus carrier adjustments. Reach us at support@shippo.com or through live chat or phone from your Shippo dashboard.
Have this ready when you contact us:
- The tracking number for the shipment
- What happened (lost, damaged, or an incorrect carrier adjustment)
Once we have those details, we'll work with Canada Post on your claim.
|
Note: Tracking isn't available for these services:
|
Can I schedule package pickups?
Not yet. Pickups for labels purchased through Shippo's Canada Post Carrier Account aren't supported.
How do I request a refund?
Follow the steps in Refund a Label. If you don't use a label, we'll credit you for its cost. That credit applies toward your next label purchase and gets deducted from your next invoice.
If the credit hasn't hit an invoice yet, we're happy to reverse it and refund your payment method instead, just ask.
|
Note: If you use a label after we've credited you for it, we'll bill you again for the shipping cost. |
How are carrier adjustments applied?
We pass along any adjustments Canada Post charges us. The most common causes are incorrect package weight, dimensions, or destination address. See Canada Post Insufficient Postage Surcharges for how to avoid them.
Can I intercept or redirect a package?
Yes. Contact Shippo Support at support@shippo.com and we'll take care of it.
Canada Post charges a $13 intercept fee. To speed things up, have this ready:
- Tracking number
- Confirmation that you accept the $13 fee plus the cost of shipping (this varies, so we'll confirm the exact amount before you approve)
- The address on the label
- The corrected address
Eligible packages: tracked parcels headed to Canadian addresses through Canada Post's domestic network, and Canada Post-tracked parcels headed to the US or other countries that are still within Canada, as long as the new address is also in Canada.
Not eligible:
- Packages out for delivery or already delivered
- Packages where the new address is outside Canada
- Packages no longer in the Canada Post domestic mail stream
- Return-to-sender packages
All redirect requests are subject to Canada Post's Package Redirection Terms and Conditions.
Does Test Mode work with this account?
Yes. Shippo's Canada Post Carrier Account supports Test Mode without a separate account, unlike personal Canada Post accounts. See Using Test Mode in Shippo to get started.
