How to Connect Australia Post to Ship with Shippo

Ready to ship with Australia Post through Shippo? Here's what you need to connect your account, plus the service levels we support.

  Note: Australia Post runs two service agreements: MyPost for accounts creating fewer than 1,000 labels a month, and eParcel for accounts above that. Shippo connects to either one.

Connecting Australia Post MyPost

  1. Follow Australia Post's guide: How to Integrate with Our eCommerce Platform Partners.
  2. Use the Partner Token they give you and enter it under Settings > Carriers > Connect Carrier > Australia Post.

How to connect to Australia Post eParcel

To connect Australia Post to Shippo, you will first need:

  • A business credit account with Australia Post
  • To apply for a business credit account, click here. 
  • Once a business credit account is established, details on applying for a parcel contract (if you don’t already have one) can be found here. 
  • A parcel contract with Australia Post
  Note: Minimum volume requirements apply with eParcel accounts, often of 1,000+ shipments per year.

Australia Post API Access

Getting API access

  1. Register your interest for "Shipping and Tracking" at the Australia Post Developer Centre.
  2. Click Register Your Interest under the Shipping and Tracking section.
  3. Australia Post will email you an invitation with instructions for setting up your API key.

Connecting in Shippo

Enter the following in Shippo:

  • Australia Post Account Number: the charge account number tied to your parcel contract. Enter it as a 10-digit number in the format 00079xxxxx.
  • Australia Post API Key: the key from your developer account, formatted like a0fe680d-e298-46c7... (36 characters, letters and numbers, including hyphens).
  • Australia Post Password: the secret you set when creating your API key. This isn't the password you use to log into the Australia Post Developer Centre.

We support shipments originating from Australia and the following territories, headed anywhere in Australia or internationally:

  • Ashmore and Cartier Islands
  • Australian Antarctic Territory
  • Norfolk Island
  • Christmas Island
  • Cocos (Keeling) Islands
  • Coral Sea Islands Territory
  • Heard and McDonald Islands

  Note: Some Australia Post customers will need to add signature confirmation to successfully create labels.
