Connecting your UPS account to Shippo allows you to view your negotiated UPS rates, use your authorized account services, and purchase UPS labels from your Shippo dashboard. In this article, we'll cover how you can connect your UPS account.
Connect UPS to Shippo
To connect your UPS account, get started by adding UPS as a carrier:
- From the Settings page, visit the Carriers tab
- Click the + Connect Carrier Account button at the top of the page and then select UPS
- Next, add your Account Nickname and UPS Account Number (Required)
- Check the box next to “By checking this box, you agree to the UPS Technology Agreement,” and then click Next
- Once the UPS Login Page appears, enter your UPS login credentials
- Once connected, you will be directed back to the Shippo dashboard
Note: Before connecting to your UPS account, please ensure your UPS account number is associated with your UPS.com account to avoid connectivity issues with Shippo. |

Note: You'll need to establish a UPS Mail Innovations account, as this service is unavailable via a UPS ground account. |
Once your UPS Mail Innovations account is established, your UPS rep will link the two together in the background so you can use that account through Shippo.
You will not receive confirmation or notification but will be redirected to the Shippo carriers page. To confirm the connection works, we suggest creating test labels using the "Irregular (Mail Innovations)” template.

Vaping Products
Effective April 5, 2021, UPS will no longer transport Vaping Products in the U.S. network (domestic shipments, import, and export). "Vaping Product" means any product intended for human consumption by inhalation that relies on vaporization or aerosolization, including but not limited to e-liquid, electronic cigarettes, electronic cigars, electronic cigarillos, electronic pipes, electronic vaping product delivery pens, hookah pens, and any other similar devices that rely on vaporization or aerosolization.
Shipping Vaping Products through UPS may result in a $150 fee per package, as well as the termination of service. You can find more information here www.ups.com/tobacco.
