The Analytics tab in your Shippo account gives you a personalized dashboard displaying your shipping patterns during a given period. This article will walk you through viewing and comparing the Total Shipping Spent, and the Net Label Spent using the provided date ranges and data filters.
How to Access Reporting and Analytics
To access your account's analytics:
- Click on Analytics from the left toolbar in your Shippo dashboard.
Total Spend
Total spend is the sum total of credits, subscription fees, surcharges, label payments, address validation fees, and refunds. In the Total Spend tab, you can view your total label expenditures, including the total dollar amount and total number of transactions, in a selected time period:
- 24 Months
- 12 Months
- This Quarter
- Last Quarter
- This Month
- Last Month
- Last 7 Days

Note: When viewing from This Year, This Quarter, or This Month, the data will be given from the beginning of that time period until the present day. |
You can also compare your Total Spend data by breaking down the selected time period into:
- Year
- Quarter
- Month
- Weeks
In the Compare Total Spend section, you will find a List and a pie chart where you can compare your:
- Net Label Spend
- One-Off Credit
- Surcharges
- Address Validation Fees
- Subscription Fees
- and Promo Credit.
Net Label Spend
Net Label Spend is label payments after deducting refunds. In the Net Label Spend tab you can view your Net Label expenditures, including the dollar amount and number of labels printed, in a selected time period:

FAQ's
How often is the dashboard updated?
Dashboards are updated daily and may not reflect transactions within the last 24 hours.
Why do some dates not match the Orders page?
The data for Spend Analytics is based on invoice date rather than transaction date. If you buy a label on a Tuesday and the invoice is generated on a Friday, the spend will show on Friday in this report.
How Is my Total Spend less than my Net Label Spend?
In rare cases, when applying notable credits to an account, Total Spend can be less than Net Label Spend.
Does Spend Analytics include Insurance Fees?
Your Spend Analytics includes Insurance fees in both Total Spend and Net Label Spend but does not break Insurance Fees down into individual line items.
Additionally, Shippo adds an insurance fee on top of the carrier's insurance fee. Due to technical constraints, your Spend Analytics data does not include this fee.
