Weight based automation will save you time during the label creation process if you use the same package templates often. Once the automation is set up, if a package falls within your weight based criteria for the rule, your package template will be applied automatically!
Setting up your Automations
Head over to your Settings page to set-up! Here’s how:
- Click on Settings and then on Automation
- Once there, go ahead and click on Create New Rule
- A modal will pop up for you to enter in your weight condition or your item condition and your package rule
- When creating your package rule, you will be asked to choose from a template
- If you do not have a template set up yet, Shippo will ask you to set one. You can only set one template through this modal
- If you need more than one template for multiple automation rules, head over to Settings → Packages to set more templates
And that’s it, just hit the Save button and your automation rule has been created! You can add as many weight-based and item-based automations as you please.
Once you hit Save, the automation rule will automatically apply to all future orders in your Shippo account with weight specified!
You can add as many rules as you'd like but please keep in mind that the order of your rules do affect how they apply to your orders.
- <5lbs = package B
- <2lbs = package A
- <2lbs = package A
- <5lbs = package B
Managing Your Automations
We get it, things change all the time! You can update and manage your automations in Settings → Automations.
You can edit or delete any current automation rules you’ve got in there by either hitting Edit or Delete next to the Rule you want to change.
If you edit any current automations, the edit will only apply to new orders and will not un-apply previously applied automation rules.
If you delete any current automations, the deletion will not un-apply previously applied automation rules.
